Delahunty's has become an institution, and has long been associated with another of the City's institutions, the ever-popular EKKA. From 1978 to 2000 Delahunty's had the distinction of being the first and only Chemist on Royal National Association (RNA) Grounds. It was a saviour to those left with a pounding headache from the crowds, an upset tummy from eating too much, or who fell victim to the notorious EKKA flu.

James and Carmel Delahunty has consolidated its relationship with the EKKA with the ongoing sponsorship of the popular Miss Showgirl Quest. The Delahunty Pharmacy Group has been a proud sponsor and supporter since its inception in 1983. James and Carmel Delahunty together with the original Showgirl Committee Members Graham Jensen & Richard Pietsch generously donated a magnificent Showgirl Honour Board featuring the names of all past winners. This hangs proudly in The Auditorium at the RNA Showgrounds.

The Miss Showgirl Awards offers the opportunity to hundreds of young Queensland women to become involved in one of the great Australian traditions – their local show.
